ESAC, Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide Program and Project Management Support for the Standards and Interoperability (S&I) Framework for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. Under this contract, ESAC will provide support for various initiatives to develop standards and processes for harmonization and coordination of federal and private efforts for interoperability and health information exchange, and to provide health IT innovations. This support includes use cases and requirements development, standards and harmonization activities, reference implementation/pilots management services, managing the day to day project administration activities for each initiative, maintaining the initiative wikis and website content, and coordinating and facilitating both internal and community-facing meetings.
Some of these initiatives include (a) Automate Blue Button Initiative (ABBI, now known as BlueButtonPlus): Focused on making it easier for consumers to access and use their health care information; (b) Data Segmentation for Privacy (DS4P): Focused on allowing healthcare providers to share portions of an electronic medical record while not sharing others; (c) Longitudinal Coordination of Care (LCC): Focused on advancing patient-centric, interoperable and sharable health information exchange across the long-term and post-acute care spectrum; (d) Query Health (QH): Focused on identifying the standards and services for creating and securely distributing population health queries to certified EHRs and other patient data sources during the routine course of patient care; and (e) Structured Data Capture (SDC): Focused on developing standards that will make it easy to use EHR data to populate other clinical and health services sources in order to improve quality and safety, and support population health and other clinical research.
