Anand Basu, President
As President, Mr. Basu oversees business growth, account management, marketing, and communications at ESAC where he is responsible for the long-term growth of the company including the strategic plan and vision. Prior to this role, Mr. Basu served as Senior Vice President at ESAC as a technology executive focused on business growth and corporate development. He has over 27 years of engineering and management experience in both public and private sector organizations. Before joining ESAC, Mr. Basu served in the public sector with more than 10 years of experience in leading complex technology programs for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Commerce. Prior to joining the federal government, he worked in management, engineering, and consulting positions at Celera Genomics, AT&T Bell Labs, and Cap Gemini America. Mr. Basu holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Wright State College, Dayton Ohio; and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.
Shine Jacob, Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President, Mr. Jacob oversees operational activities in the organization, leading the development and implementation of cost-effective systems, processes, and operations to meet current and future needs. As the founding President of ESAC, he served in this role until June 2019. Mr. Jacob’s career includes engagements in managing and delivering Innovative Technology Solutions in the healthcare and informatics domain for private, public and academic organizations for more than 25 years. Mr. Jacob managed the design, development, and deployment of several informatics solutions, and scientific databases in support of agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as private sector clients. Since founding ESAC in 2006, Mr. Jacob has driven the company’s revenue growth by over 130%, landing ESAC on both the INC-500 for three years, and Washington Technology’s list of 50 fastest-growing, small businesses in the government technology market. Prior to founding ESAC, Mr. Jacob held key positions at Celera Genomics and Sybase. Mr. Jacob holds a Master of Science degree in Information Systems and Technology from John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. He also holds certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and Certified Scrum Professional-ScrumMaster (CSP-SM).
Michael Holck, Vice President, Software Engineering
As Vice President, Software Engineering, Mr. Holck is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate technology and engineering strategies. Prior to this, he was the Director, Software Engineering at ESAC where he led the company to achieve CMMI DEV L3 and ISO 9001 certifications. Throughout his career of more than 25 years, Mr. Holck has successfully guided teams responsible for the development of enterprise applications ranging from genomics data visualization and medical data surveillance to cloud-hosted SaaS solutions. He is most well-known for his savvy in facilitating communication between stakeholders for establishing and accomplishing common goals that support a proven track record for the timely delivery of multiple releases for complex systems and achieving performance turnaround on technical projects. Prior to joining ESAC, he has served in senior engineering positions at ScenPro, Raytheon and Novatel Wireless/Inseego. Mr. Holck holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington, Texas.
ESAC significantly improved the quality of bioinformatics applications of the NCI CBIIT program using industry best practices to ensure systems were validated both functionally and scientifically for use by the community.
